Ten Letters Ch. 2 Summary
Chapter two of Ten Letters: Americans Ask Their President Is about Stefan, a young man who looks, acts, and talks like president Obama. Stefan goes through High School and College in poverty. Stefan was born to a single mother, because his father was arrested for being part of a murder before he was born. Stefan was always thought to be a young, quiet man until the elections started. He supported Obama with so much passion, that he started to persuade his parents and fellow classmates. His mother had very little income and was unemployed. When Obama won the election, teachers and students congratulated him and called him Mr. President. When Obama won, Stefan decided he would run for president of his school. He only won by six votes out of 150 ballots cast.
Stefan was able to get his grades up, and get a full scholarship to a college he wanted to go to. When he got to the orientation, he made friends and had a good time. His mother was astonished on how much it was going to cost. Stefan was able to turn his life around and is probably doing well in college.
